Grand Tour of the East Coast

This fantastic tour includes visits to some of the most prestigious colleges as well as to top cultural and historical sites in the United States! 

We also offer alternative sightseeing and attractions for those participants who are not interested in college tours… There is something for everyone! It’s an action packed week!

When: Sunday, August 13 – Saturday, August 19

Tour Route:  New York City – Philadelphia – Washington, DC

Accommodation:  College campus residences and hotels

Meals:  Breakfast included. Our tour directors will suggest places to eat for Lunch and Dinner and our chaperons will accompany students to locations.

Sunday: Grand Tour week begins!

Morning- travel to NYC

Afternoon- Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, Central Park

Evening- Broadway and Times Square

Monday: Morning- Columbia University,

Afternoon- NYU and Washington Square, Chinatown, Little Italy, SoHo, Wall Street, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, UN.

Tuesday: Morning- travel to Philadelphia

Afternoon- Sightseeing in Philadelphia, Museum of Modern Art

Evening- Shopping

Wednesday: Morning- Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania

Late Afternoon- Arrival to Washington D.C., Washington tour by night (National Monuments and Memorials)

Thursday: Morning- U.S. Capitol, White House, The Mall,

Afternoon- Georgetown

Friday: Morning- George Washington University

Afternoon- Smithsonian Museums: National Museum of American History or National Museum of Natural History, National Gallery of Art

Evening- Summer Jazz Concert

Saturday: Morning- Departure from Washington, drop off at DC airports;

The Grand Tour starts in Massachusetts on Sunday morning, August 13, however, new students could meet us in NYC on Sunday afternoon (please contact us for details).

The trip ends in Washington on Saturday morning, August 19. Participants should make arrangements to depart from any of the Washington DC airports on that day. Students who continue with our other programs in Amherst will be on our group flight (additional cost) to BDL airport on Sunday morning.
